These are the most perfect oven baked crispy chicken wings ever.
I do enjoy all wings in general, but oh man, there’s nothing like a nice hot and spicy buffalo wing. Nothing. Like. It.
So, over the years I’ve worked hard to truly perfect the art of the chicken wing.
SIDE NOTE: I am SUPER particular about my food. I know what I like and I want it exactly that way. If even one thing is off, it can be enough to deter me from eating it. THE HORROR!
Anyway, when it comes to wings. I like em one way….CRISPY.
I’m talking so crispy that your first bite can be heard from miles away. SO CRISPY that even Cocoa himself would take offense.
But, with great crispness comes great risk…of a dried out wing. Which is just not acceptable.
So here are some of Vic’s Tricks:
- Always marinate your wings for at least 30 minutes before cooking
- This will help keep the wings nice and juicy and also helps the seasonings adhere
- Some marinade variations I use are:
- Olive oil, white wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder
- Olive oil, white wine vinegar, Cajun spices
- Olive oil, teriyaki sauce, ginger
- Once marinaded, place the wings at least 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet

Vic Trick: The parchment is absolutely essential here. We need something that will help prevent a mess and will not stick when we use even the thickest of sauces.

Place into a 425° oven and cook for 12 minutes. Then flip over and cook for another 10 or until crispy and cooked through.

FLIP EM! The bottom is what gets nice and crispyyyy.
Seriously, the wing pictured below is just the underside of the ones above!

Use your judgement! If you want them crispier, leave them in for longer! The marinade should give you a little extra juiciness to work with.

From there, either eat right away or toss into a buffalo, BBQ, or whatever sauce your little heart desires. And that’s it! The perfect oven-baked crispy chicken wings!
