Welcome to the easiest treat of all-time!
Chocolate bark is the perfect answer to any of your sweet needs.
I almost always have some extra chocolate laying around and I certainly have a buttload of extra sprinkles. And chocolate bark uses up all those extras and creates a darn good treat.
Here’s a base recipe, but you can always mix and match any toppings/flavors/extracts you want! Have fun with it!
First thing’s first, you’ll want to melt your chocolate.
Now, melting chocolate may sound easy, but there’s actually quite a bite of nuances to be aware of.
Because the WORST thing you can do is burn chocolate. It tastes and smells absolutely horrible.
So, to ensure this doesn’t happen, you can either sit by the microwave and melt it in 30 second increments at 50% power for like 5 minutes.
Or you can use a double boiler (my preferred method). A double boiler is where you place a bowl over indirect heat and use that to melt the chocolate.
For example, I have this very large glass bowl that fits over a pot, but leave’s about 5 inches of space without touching the bottom. PERFECT.
Because, the point is that the steam from the water be what heats the bowl. So, I put about 2 inches of water in the pot and place the bowl on top and set the heat to medium low. Having the chocolate not hit the heat directly prevents it from burning!
Once you get your double boiler set, you can add in a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips of your choice. I like semi-sweet.

Stir continuously until the chocolate melts completely and is silky and smooth.

Vic Trick: While your chocolate is melting, get all your toppings together because you’ll need them at the ready.

Now’s the fun part!
Add on the toppings of your choice in whatever sort of pattern (or lack thereof) you want!
Vic Trick: I used a combo of sprinkles, crushed up candy canes, and white chocolate. ALL of which I had leftover from other cookie recipes!

Place the tray into the fridge and let the chocolate set for at least 3 hours, but ideally overnight. Then break it up into pieces – whatever size you like!
AND THAT’S IT!!!
So super simple and always a delicious treat! Perfect for using up whatever you’ve got. You can even add in some fruit like strawberry or pomegranate seeds. Or try a white chocolate base!
Comment with your favorite toppings or flavor combos!
