I’ve been thinking a lot about why I started this blog.
Maybe because I’m finally starting to really pick up speed here and gain some followers/build enough of a recipe library to be proud of.
OK – not that many, but still…
I know I’d be more successful if I could choose a “theme” – like dairy-free or low-carb. The people love a good theme.
But, like I’m sure a lot of you, I don’t fit into just one box.
However, if I had to throw a “theme” around my food, it would be KISS.
Keep It Simply Sexy
Yeah, you heard me right. I like my food like I like my men, simple and sexy.
Anyway, back to the origin of the blog… I started Vic’s Tricks To… inspired by my best friend, Olivia. See, Olivia lovesssss food, just like me. She’s willing to try just about anything and we have eaten our way through many cities together.
But, Olivia didn’t grow up cooking like I did. And she’s a young professional who doesn’t have all the time in the world to try super complex dishes. So she looks for simple, yet delicious recipes.
What if I could compile all my favorite SIMPLE recipes that taste and LOOK absolutely DELICIOUS, but have quick, easy-to-understand instructions?
Just like that, was the birth of Vic’s Tricks To…
I recently took a poll on my Instagram page that asked if people who look to blogs for recipes are more seasoned (no pun intended) cooks looking for ideas or less practiced home cooks who are looking to learn. The results ended up 70/30 with wanting to LEARN in the lead!
That really energized me and made me want to share why this blog was created in the first place:
We’re all busy and don’t have time to read pages of steps in a recipe. We just want to KISS. Keep It Simply Sexy. 😉
Happy Eating!
